The Bandol wine regions is based around the fishing village of Bandol.
The major grape varietal in the Bandol AOC is Mourvèdre (minimum 50%) with Grenache and Cinsaut usually filling out the rest.
The Bandol AOC covers the production from 8 communes with silicon & limestone soils. The soil and the warm, coastal climate are ideally suited for the late ripening Mourvèdre grape.
